Virtual Host Certification Course
Every Virtual Facilitator Needs a Capable Virtual Host
More and more organizations are discovering the power and effectiveness of webinar-based learning. A mistake many first time webinar presenters make is in thinking that they can fly solo. There is a reason most large scale marketing webinars have a host and a presenter. It's so the presenter or facilitator can focus on the learning content and not get mired down in logistical and technical issues that often can surface in a webinar session. The virtual host (sometimes called the producer) performs a critical role supporting the virtual facilitator by managing all the behind-the-scenes aspects that can interfere with and distract from the learning experience, so the facilitator can focus on the needs of the participants.
NetSpeed Learning Solutions' Virtual Host Certification (VHC) course provides a cost-effective, hands-on learning experience to give you the tools you need to become a successful host/producer.
Our three-week VHC course features:
- Two webinar learning sessions (a 60-minute and a 90-minute session) where you will learn the key functions of the host role, as well as how to trouble-shoot common technical issues that most hosts can expect to experience
- A 30-minute, one-on-one private coaching session with a NetSpeed Learning Solutions Master Host to prepare you for your own hosting trainback
- Two 3-hour trainback sessions where you and other participants will each have the opportunity to host a 20-minute virtual webinar trainback with a NetSpeed Master Host
- 4 to 5 hours of self-paced learning at the NetSpeed Fast Tracks web site
- A copy of Cynthia Clay's book Great Webinars: How to create interactive learning that is captivating, informative and fun
High-speed Internet access is required for completion of online exercises and participation in the webinars. A web camera is highly preferred, but not required. Students who successfully complete the course will be able to:
- Host effective webinar sessions using all of the web conference interaction tools (polling, chat, whiteboards, etc.)
- Engage learner attention and participation in online learning
- Describe best practices for virtual hosting
- Troubleshoot common technical problems
- Interact effectively with the webinar facilitator to create a more engaging webinar learning experience for the participants
A calendar of public sessions of the Virtual Host Certification course will be posted in the near future. Private sessions of the Virtual Host Certification course are available as well. To learn more about pricing and availability of public or private VHC courses, contact NetSpeed Learning.
